I totally agree with Rick Anderson’s 3 icebergs that threaten libraries. We must ALWAYS be cognizant of meeting the users’ needs at their point of service…kind of scary not only for libraries but for society as well!
Michael Stephen’s verbage of a “librarian 2.0…” is where we all need to set our sites! It is hard to wrap my brain around Dr. Schultz’s “…Library 3.0 and 4.0”…we are so busy trying to keep our head above water with the current user needs that planning for the future is tough. That isn’t to say we should give up but continue to increase the librarian fold so that we can move into the future equipped to serve.

I feel the same way...keeping my head above water. I also feel sometimes if I don't use it, I will loose it!
ReplyDeleteI am VERY envious of your place on the river!! We just came back from Frio River--great trip but the river was VERY low. : )
